You can go to
Wordle and make your own. I kind of want to print this out hang it in Gentry's room.
Also, here is a fun game.
Your first memory of me...1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.
OK then.

Guess who is barfing at my house? And as a result, guess who has not brushed their teeth or shaved their legs today?
Man it makes me sad to see him struggle like that. But he should be better tomorrow. We went to the DR today and they gave him a penicillin shot since he would not be able to keep medicine down very well. He was almost immediately better. It was truly amazing. And then he asked for french fries and I knew that we were heading back up again.

I went to wake up Gentry this morning and this is what I found. Scrumptious little toes and a boy who did not want to wake up. I love his morning hair as well. All rumpled and smashed. The first thing he asked for, Iron Man underwear. I wish I had some Iron Man underwear as well.

The garden is going well. These are blossoms from potato plants. I cut up the potatoes that were growing legs in my pantry and put them in the ground and this is what happened. Can you even believe it? It amazes me what will come out of the ground, and these burst out of the ground. It really was astonishing how a full bush rose out of the ground, complete with leaves and flowers. They didn't even start as little buds or sprouts.
Yesterday we went and pulled one zucchini and two yellow zucchinis off their plants and ate them for dinner. We grilled them with an onion and butter and
BBQ3000. And well, it was so good. I love the summer fresh foods that I can harvest from my own garden. And aren't nectarines pretty much like candy growing on a tree? Oh my word, I love summer food.

I love my life. I know I whine incessantly about it, but really I would not have it any other way.
Being married to a man who understands me and laughs at my stupid jokes is one of the greatest blessings in my life. Also, he lets me talk about my digestional triumphs and still thinks I am sexy. What could be any better?
Having a baby who only hates me half the time makes me swell with joy. Watching him learn, laugh, and grow is amazing to me. I love that he tells me where to stick it and in return I tell him to sit in time out. But I love that he has the guts to tell it like it is. Honesty, above all else, is so key to me.
I love my little house. I love living in a beautiful valley. I love friends who don't criticize my inane personality.
Today I am thankful.

I saw this guy hanging out in
Erin's garden today. He may actually be the same one
she saw the other day. I wonder what he is guarding over there? Maybe her jalapeƱo.

When I grow up, I want to be nice.
Or the Loch Ness Monster. Really I don't care much about being nice as much as honest and haunting old lakes.
And some days I really want to punch people in the face. Unsuspecting, smiley neighbors. You. Stupid drivers. Construction workers. Harmon's.

I would like to draw your attention
here.

They opened a new pool in my neighborhood on Monday, and I am starting to think I am going to get spoiled. We have been to the pool everyday this week and we are about to head to the little kiddie pool that is closer to my house. Gentry has a little white bum and a tan little back. I am slowly turning brown as well, even though I do pretty well keeping covered.
When JJ and I were in Hawaii we talked about how he would never look like a native. Being a tall, skinny, blindingly white, red head does really lead someone to fit in where everyone looks like they hang out in the sun all day everyday. Kind of like a flamingo in the crocodile house. I, on the other hand, after about a week in the sand and surf had turned brown, learned I didn't need to do my hair or wear makeup to fit in. Also, you don't have to be stick skinny in Hawaii, in fact the skinny folk are the ones who look like they don't belong. Natural is what looked natural there and I appreciated that. Anyway.
The two of us that are prone to tanning in my house are soaking up the warm rays. The other guy, he is under an umbrella, fully clothed, with a hat and knee socks, a bottle of sunscreen and his iphone.

In writing and typography, a ligature occurs where two or more letter-forms are joined as a single glyph. Ligatures usually replace consecutive characters sharing common components, and are part of a more general class of glyphs called "contextual forms" where the specific shape of a letter depends on context such as surrounding letters or proximity to the end of a line.
from wikipediaIn other words, it is the orgasm of type. They make a girl happy while editing pages of techy-computerized nerd documents. Aren't those forms sexy?

We have not been on a little trip, in forever. We travel for business pretty frequently, but those are not destressers. We went to my family property in Tabiona for the weekend. We didn't have much planned except for the the few town events which included a little chuckwagon breakfast and a small parade. It was so nice to just get away and hang out.
jj and my brother went fly fishing on the reservoir. Aubrey and I paddled around in a canoe with Gentry and her two dogs. We stayed in a tent and Gentry slept really well. I am glad to be home and also to have had a few days away from the computer and phone.

Thank you for all the love and support when Gentry was being so difficult. I truly appreciate knowing that I have good people in my life; people who know me and are willing to understand the patience it takes to be a mom of a toddler who is finding his individuality.
As I was crying to my mom with sunblock in my eyes, contemplating eating my young, my mom offered to come and take Gentry to work with her. This would have relived the momentary pain we were both suffering, but it would not have changed the fact that he was being defiant and mean. What it would have done was teach him that if he throws big enough fits, eventually someone will come and rescue him. This was a battle I felt I needed to stay in with him. I am thankful to my mom for offering to take him though.
I feel like sometimes the battle is worth the outcome. Gentry and I needed to fight so that he could remember who is in charge of him and this house. Structure and stability are worth the fight, because if there is one thing I don't want happening around here is having a toddler who is in charge. We have all seen the outcome of toddlers running the house on
SuperNanny. Happy secure toddlers is what she teaches and that is what I am aiming for, even if there are some major wars along the way.
